Genesis

thanks fred . . . this book turns the Genesis into visual imagery. Exactly what i want to do.

Visual aid ' stuff you've forgotten, things you never thought you knew

The colours are so simple, and the imfoemtaion is portrayed simple, i need to look at graphs and ways of documenting data, so that i take some ideas from this, but turn them into more of a graphic illustration.

I got this book for christmas, the contents is about general facts, differnt knots ect, but the way the images are illustrated, strips them down to their simplest form, with a good use of colour, this is exactly what i need to achieve with my work, this books a very good refrence.

Tutorial - ' keep it simple'

After my tutorial i have decided that i am going to stick with the theme of books. My main focus being how to simplify information down to its bare form, so that what is presented is the only thing necessary, looking at signs, icons, color coding and illustration.

So that i don't get to bogged down, i will do other briefs besides the book brief, for example getting briefs and treating them as one day briefs.

I need to make quick decisions!

Jason Munn

The style of these posters is something i would like recreate, there simple and the style would be appropriate to what i want to achieve. Most of them are based around music or band titles, so i could do something similar but with literature and book titles.

FMP Subject

Getting started ... . . eeerm, finding it difficult to pin point a subject so far i have decided:

- Book design / posters advertising a book
- Design simplicity - about promoting a book, or a piece of text in a simple graphic form
- Relationship between language & image
- AREAS OF DESIGN : Digital/screenprint, letterpress and wooden blocks.

Not sure what particular genre, interested in books that perhaps are about political change or social reforms.
